How to be "That Girl"

Welcome back Fashion Dolls, I missed you all! This week, we're talking about how to become "that girl". For those of you who don't know, "that girl" is the girl that has her stuff together. She always has the cutest outfit, she wakes up early, stays hydrated, and goes to bed in her matching pajama set every night. We're all jealous of that girl, but why can't we be that girl? This summer I've been dedicating a lot of time to becoming my truest, happiest, most productive self, and as a result, I've become "that girl". Let me tell you, it feels good to know you've got some sh*t together.

Here are my tips and tricks on becoming "that girl"

Morning Routine!!

I know it sounds simple, but so much of my newfound positivity has come from how I start my day. Rather than laying in bed for another hour after waking up, I spend about ten minutes in bed and get my day started. The very first thing I do when I get out of bed is OPEN MY CURTAINS. I let the sunshine in and I turn on my "good morning" playlist - which is full of happy songs that calm me down and also get me excited for the day (lots of Jack Johnson). Opening your curtains first thing is a huge game-changer, it puts you in a better mood and it triggers your body to get moving.

You need a water bottle

This is another tip that sounds very simple, but I promise it's life-changing. If you don't have a hydro flask at this point, you're doing it wrong. Get a reusable water bottle that you can take everywhere. I promise that you'll subconsciously be drinking out of it without even knowing! And as soon as it's empty, refill it! It sounds easy, and it is, but this is a non-negotiable tip. You need to keep that water bottle by your bed, bring it with you to work, and put it in your cupholder when you're driving. If that water bottle is always around, I promise you'll end up drinking a ton more water, which results in better digestion, clearer skin, and more frequent removal of toxins in your body. All good things!

Find a Creative Outlet

When I don't have something to pour my creative energy into, I get very annoyed. My creative outlets consist of putting outfits together, blogging, updating social media, and organizing. But, your creative outlet could be totally different! Find what you enjoy using the right side of your brain on and make time for it! Whether it's painting, exercising, cooking, etc. It is a priority.

Treat your Body Kindly

This tip is overall amazing for mental health, and it should never be on the backburner. I know it's easy to get wrapped up in what everyone else is doing, and you think summer is all about going out every night and never resting, but I've tried that and it leads to a pretty miserable existence. When it comes to treating your body kindly, there are multiple things that you need to focus on.

- Eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full

With diet culture surging all around us, it's easy to want to restrict ourselves so we can look cute in that new bathing suit. But I swear, the best diet is to eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full. If your body has been craving something very intensely for more than 24 hours, let your body have that. You don't have to finish everything on your plate, a lot of people do subconsciously and they're actually overeating, causing bloating and fatigue. It's good to work in fruits, vegetables, and protein, but your body knows what it needs. If you listen closely you'll be able to figure out the best diet for YOUR body and you'll feel 10x better.

- Remember to Bathe

I know all of you are reading this and saying, "Oh I never forget to bathe!" Well, I hate to break it to you, but you're lying. It's honestly very easy to forget to bathe when you are coming home from a long day, or you really want the extra sleep, but I promise you'll feel so much better when you do. Try to wash your body once a day, exfoliate, shave, and wash your hair as needed.

- Splurge on a Spa Night for One

Once a week, or every other week I try to dedicate a night of rest and self-spa treatment. It's really important to give yourself that extra love, rest, and detox. If you prioritize a night where you can do a face mask, maybe a pore strip, or some whitening strips your body is going to feel cleaner and lighter than ever, and you feel good about doing something nice for yourself.

Bring out the color!

I don't know about you guys, but color really affects my mood. If I'm surrounded by bright, happy colors then the same will show for my attitude. Some easy ways to bring more color in your life are: putting flowers on your nightstand, changing your home screen to a fun Pinterest background, wearing fun earrings, and eating a colorful plate!

"Trust me you're going to feel so much more prodcutive, and like you have it together."

Try Out Matching Pajamas

Ok, I know this seems extra, but I promise it's a really great way to start and end your day. Not to mention, it's a lot comfier than that old t-shirt you were going to sleep in. Get one pair and try it out. Trust me you're going to feel so much more productive, and like you have it together. Also, you'll look forward to it every night. And when you wake up in the morning, you'll just feel fresher. It sounds crazy, but trust me, you're going to feel better.

Well, that's all for this week's post! I hope you all enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it! Don't forget to follow @feminine.punk on Instagram and now TikTok for more updates and content! I hope you all have a great week, and I'll talk to you soon <3
