How to Throw the ULTIMATE Adult Sleepover

Updated: Feb 4, 2022

Ciao dolls! This past weekend, I threw what I call an "adult sleepover". Now I don't mean entertaining a special someone. I mean how to have the best girls' night/slumber party ever. You'll impress your girl -friends, create the funniest memories, and do it all in style.

Ok. So, the first thing you need to do is invite a FABULOUS guest list. Make sure you get your best friends, but also the friends that will blend together. You need your funny friend, your glam friend, your mom friend, and your hot mess friend. Thus, creating the most entertaining and borderline scandalous conversations ;)

Now that you've got your girl gang, you need the get your food and drinks together. So obviously you need to get the perfect rosé and champagne. I went with an expensive rosé and a bottle of champagne on the more forgivable side

And no girls' night would be complete without a charcuterie board. So your second step is to make the most gorgeous charcuterie board to impress all your girls right when they walk through your front door. The key to creating the best charcuterie board is variety. You want a variety of cheeses, crackers, meats, fruits, and spreads. Since I had a total of six girls - I made two boards.

My First Board Contains:

green grapes, strawberries, pepper jack cheese, thinly sliced salami, siracha flavored nut thins, everything flavored simple mills crackers, rosemary & olive oil Triscuits, walnuts, dijon mustard, and honey fig jelly.

I also set out classic Sabra hummus with some extra pita chips, bite-size brownies, and my mom's famous black-eyed pea salsa with Tostitos scoop chips.

My Second Board Contains:

Green grapes, pepper jack flavored nut thins, blackberries, white sharp cheddar, walnuts, raw honey, thinly sliced granny smith apples, kalamata olives, aged gruyere, sriracha flavored nut thins, simply naked pita chips, and provolone cheese

While you're having pink wine and cheese with your girls my "game" of choice is always Table Topics. Table Topics is a box filled with endless conversation-starting questions. While it's a great pass time, it's also a super-easy way to learn about and bond with your friends.

I personally used the Dinner Party themed box, but I would also recommend Not Your Mom's Dinner Party, Cocktail, Inspiring Women, and Girl's Night Out.

Now that you've finished the bottle of rosé and you've laughed until you cried your eye makeup off, it's time to put you're glamorous or not-so-glamours, pajamas on. Rather than all splitting up into bedrooms, I decided we should have our slumber the old-fashioned way - in the movie room. Now if you've ever been to a middle school sleepover, you'll remember that you always slept somewhere in front of a tv, on a couch. Luckily, my parents own the perfect sleepover couch in their upstairs tv room that they renovated from their attic. Since the couch can fit six teenage girls on it -- it's the perfect sleepover spot.

To set up your perfect sleepover spot, you want to make sure you have plenty of blankets, pillows, and snacks. Since two charcuterie boards were not enough, I decided to make a third! But instead of cheese and crackers, I made the best "movie board". A "movie board" is a charcuterie board made of snacks you'd buy at the movie theatre, or snack on while watching a movie.

My Movie Board Contains:

circus animal cookies, green grapes, animal crackers, goldfish, thinly sliced granny smith apples, dark chocolate covered pretzels, caramel covered popcorn, sour patch kids, white cheddar Cheeto puffs, gummy lifesavers, Twizzlers, popcorn, strawberries, and cashews. It paired excellently with high noon seltzers.

The movie board was the hit of the night, and had all my girls posting on their Snapchat stories, which is the best compliment :)

Now that we've accomplished the perfect group, location, game, food, and drinks we have one final finishing touch. It's time to pick the perfect chick flick. Rather than scrolling through streaming services and debating on what to watch for over an hour, I thought it'd be fun to grab out of a bowl. I wrote down every movie from Shrek to Bring it On to The Notebook. We all drew out of the bowl and voted on our favorite one -- The Devil Wears Prada.

And we topped it all off with a unicorn facemask found in Kroger.

Now that you've read your guide to throwing the ultimate adult sleepover, TEXT YOUR GIRLFRIENDS!!!!!

Happy slumber ;)

XO,

Clay
